RMT (Registered Massage Therapist)
Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays
I grew up in northwestern Ontario and am of Finnish background. Growing up, I often was known to my friends as the one to see for neck rubs. It was something I enjoyed though never considered a career in that field. My desire to see the world led me to study Travel & Tourism at the local college instead. I worked in that industry for 11 years. It was during one of my crossborder travels, that I was involved in a car accident leaving me with whiplash. That accident resulted in my first experience with an RMT. My RMT was very skilled and professional. The therapy helped me to heal and be pain free -- I was hooked on massage at that point.
In 2003 I moved to my favourite city -- Vancouver. I also knew a career change was in order. The natural choice for me was to study massage, as I truly believe it works. I enrolled at West Coast College of Massage Therapy in New Westminster and graduated in December 2006.
In my treatments I use various massage modalities such as trigger point therapy, stretching, myofasical release, MTAR (Musculotendonous Attachment Release), ERL (End Range Loading)and swedish massage. I am a firm advocate of prevention and know that massage can not only help the body heal after an injury, it can aid the prevention of various repetative strain conditions, postural concerns and overall stress reduction. Combining massage with other alternative therapies (chiropractic, acupunture) can have amazing results on healing the body.
In my spare time I enjoy movies, travelling, theatre/plays, jogging, being a foodie and spending time with my friends and family. I am also fluent in the Finnish language.
I am currently accepting new patients.
